Halloween, a scary time of
the year for many people, but
not for students at USD. It hap–
pened
to
fall on a Tuesday night
this year but that did not stop
students from celebrating. Sig–
ma Pi and Sigma Chi had a joint
Halloween bash that started off
the pre-holiday weekend. Cos–
tume parties filled up all of Sat–
urday night. By Monday, stu–
dents had
to
take a break from
the weekend madness and get
their energy back up for all the
Tuesday night jovialities. Many
students got their homework
done early, dressed up in cos–
tumes, and headed for the Hal–
loween parties. Other students,
such as residents in the Vista
Apartments, welcomed young
children from the surrounding
neighborhoods for "trick-or–
treating". These children
scanned the halls of Vista's and
found some generous students
who took time out from their
Halloween madness
to
give
them candy. Other students at
USD were touched by the Hal–
loween spirit. "Weenie" grams
were sold by Delta Tau Delta
and distributed
to
many stu–
dents on campus. They consist–
ed of some Halloween candy and
little cards to write special
ghoulish messages. No one was
afraid, USD students had over–
come their childhood fears and
celebrated Halloween with
