thethirdyear, inconjunctionwithalthegreat eventsthat have

becomeapartoftheAmericanSportfishingAsociation’s

ICASTtradeshow,wasthe“Bas &BirdiesClasic.”This

friendlycompetitionisheldthedaybeforethedoorsopenat

ICASTandconsistsoffour-personteamsandauniquescram-

ble-bestbalformatandalitlepondfishingatsomeofthe

holes. Andevenbeterthanafunmorningofgolfingandfish-

ingisthat aportionoftheprocedsgotosupport “KepAmer-

icaFishing”–somethingwestrivetodoeveryday.

Thisyear, ourteamwasmadeupofClarkWendlandt, FLWProandHostofFishing&HuntingTexas®; ScotWendlandt, pro-

ductioncrewfor Fishing&HuntingTexas®; RustyTrancygier, FLWPro; andWadeMiddleton, President ofCarecoTVandShow

Host.Thisyear’sBas&BirdieswasplayedontheRobertTrentJonescourseatCelebrationGolfClub–anamazinggolf

coursethatyouwouldexpecttofindinOrlando.Ourcompetitionwasabittougherthisyear, butwithshootingan18unde

scoreof54(whichjust tiedusforthebest round), andClarkcatchinga12”bas, wewereabletotakeFirst Place!Whoknew

thata12”baswouldclinchatournamenttitle?

Withquiteafewfishingprosparticipatingthisyear, includingRandalTharp,

TeryScroggins, WesleyStraderandScotCanterbury, thebarwilsurelybe

raisednextyear….andwecan’twaittodefendourtitleandsupport

KepAmericaFishing.orgagain!
