Aleš Šteger’s books have
been translated into over
16 languages and his
poems have appeared
internationally in
The New
Yorker, Times Literary
Supplement
and hundreds of other places. The English
translation of his
Knjiga reči
(
The Book of Things
, BOA
Editions, 2010) won him a Best Translated Book Award.
Aleš received the title
Chevalier dans le ordre des Arts et des
Lettres
from the French State. He is also a member of the
Akademie der Künste in Berlin.
Besides writing and translating from German and Spanish
Aleš is also c0-founder and programme director of Beletrina
Academic Press.
