The Three Lalanne Geese
At the center of the Goose Market Square

, this is probably the most photo-
graphed monument in Sarlat. The three bronze geese were sculpted in 1991 by
the artist couple, Claude and Francois-Xavier Lalanne (1927-2008). The group is
a reminder that this was, right until the 1970’s, Sarlat’s long-standing traditional
marketplace for the sale of poultry.
