MEETINGS OF THE COUNCIL.

3rd July.

Twenty members present.

Professorship.

The Council appointed Mr. Frederick W.

Gilligan, Solicitor, to be Professor to the

Society of Real Property, Equity and Con–

veyancing, in room of Mr. Arthur G. Ouirke,

Solicitor, whose term of service has expired.

Centenary.

The following telegram, received on the

17th June, 1941, being Centenary Day of

the Society, from

the Incorporated Law

Society of Northern

Ireland, was

read.

"The Law Society, Four Courts, Dublin.

" The President and Council of the Incor-

" porated Law Society of Northern Ireland

" send

to

the President,

Council

and

" Members of the Incorporated Law Society

" of Ireland Greetings on the occasion of

" their centenary and best wishes for their

" prosperity in years to come."

It was

resolved that the telegram be gratefully

acknowledged, and the good wishes which

it contains be cordially reciprocated.

the Dublin Newspaper

Managers' Committee was considered and

directions given for reply thereto.

Centenary Annuity Fund.

A report of the progress of the fund was

made.

Premises.

Estimates for repairs were accepted.

Adjourned.

The Council adjourned until Monday,

29th September, 2.30 p.m.

SOLICITORS' BILL, 1940.

A special meeting of the Council was held

on the 26th June, to consider finally the

Solicitors' Bill before submitting it to a

private special meeting of

the members

of the Society.

An amendment dividing Part V, as drafted,

into two parts, so as to confine Part V to

Banking,

and Part VI

to Professional

Conduct, and re-numbering the remaining
