Engineering
Presentation
Dean Mark Matsumoto will provide an overview of the programs offered
in the School of Engineering at UC Merced. Students will be encouraged
to consider engineering as a career choice. Students also will learn why
pursuing a degree in engineering at UC Merced would be unique, valuable
and ultimately impactful in their lives.

This workshop will provide an overview of student success resources that are designed to provide
resources and skill-building opportunities for undergraduate scholars, with an emphasis on resources
available for students who are Undeclared.

Admissions
101
Admissions advisors will give advice on how to prepare for admission to the University of California.
They will discuss course and examinations requirements, and how we consider your experiences
beyond academics during our application selection process. They will also discuss the new personal
insight questions and provide important dates and deadlines.
Recreation
and Athletics
As part of the UC Merced student wellness initiative, the UC Merced Recreation and Athletics
Department (RAD) provides recreational and athletic opportunities for students to lead healthy,
engaging lifestyles that enhance student success and well-being, and to foster a commitment to
lead and serve their community.
Special
Populations
This workshop will familiarize first-generation students with the support that is available to them
at UC Merced. Students will be introduced to the Bright Success Center, which facilitates various
programs, services and opportunities to ensure academic and personal success at the University.
Financial
Aid
Financial Aid advisors will discuss the various types of aid, the estimated costs to attend UC Merced
and the financial support available to students and parents.
Transfer
Admissions
Transfer Admissions advisors will give advice on how to prepare for admission to the University of
California as a transfer student. They will discuss major preparation and admission requirements,
and how we consider your experiences beyond academics during our application selection process.
They will also discuss the new personal insight questions and provide important dates and deadlines.

Get to know UC Merced from a student’s perspective. During this question-and-answer panel,
students will share why they chose UC Merced, and talk about their experience inside and outside
the classroom, in research labs, and on-campus employment and more.
