ST EDWARD’S CHRONICLE
The Field Weekend in March was as lively as ever. Pictured are Michel Mayatskiy mountain biking in the New Forest; Gini Hope and Isabella Sheppard-Capurro about to
try the water cannon at RAF Benson; and Cosmo del Mar and Alexander Byas at the Battle of Britain Memorial on London’s Embankment.
CCF Field Weekend
Climbing
In November, Fourth Form climbers took up their national flags for an
end of term competition in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic format, run by
Climbing Captain Oliver Ferneyhough. All enjoyed the frantic pace of the
speed climbing discipline and then tackled increasingly difficult top-rope
routes. Countries represented were: Alexandre Jennison (USA), James
Harding (Great Britain), Philipp Yuzhilin (Russia) and Håkon Reinboth
(Norway). In March, the Climbing Team took part in the Independent
Schools’ Climbing Competition at Big Rock in Milton Keynes, holding
their own against the climbing giants of Harrow, Eton and Tonbridge.
Oliver Ferneyhough performed particularly well to win the Senior
Top-Roping category ahead of some GB junior athletes. Well done to
all for some excellent performances and hard work, and huge thanks to
coaches Miss Boast and Miss Nelson.
Rugby for England
Stop press:
