OPPOSITION

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Young gun Elliot Dee came up through the ranks

of the Dragons’ Principality Premiership Clubs to

become a permanent Dragons squad member.

He came through Pontypool and Bedwas whilst

being involved in the Dragons Academy set up.

Newport born Elliot scored his first try when he

was a young lad playing for Newbridge U7’s

and hasn’t really looked back. He did start an

electrical apprenticeship but turned his focus to

rugby and has reaped the rewards for doing this

by featuring for both Wales’ U18’s and the U20’s

teams.

Born in Carmarthen and raised in Burry Port,

he played his youth rugby for Llangennech and

was named Player of the Season after his first

season with the senior team, before moving

onto Llandovery for the 2010-11 season.

He has international caps from the Wales

U20s and the Wales 7s team, whilst also been

capped for Wales against the Barbarians at the

Millennium Stadium on 2nd June 2012.

The centre joined the Dragons in the summer

of 2015 and made his debut for the Welsh

Region against Connacht in Round 1 of the

2015/16 Guinness PRO12.

Newport born Hewitt is a product of the

Newport Gwent Dragons Academy. He has

come up through the age grades playing for

both the U16s and U18s whilst also making

appearances for Premiership teams Newport

RFC and Cross Keys.

The wing also has caps from Wales U20s and

made his international age grade debut against

Ireland U20s in February 2013.

The young gun made his debut for the Welsh

Region in the LV=Cup against the Scarlets in

November 2013.
