Ah, MOBAs. Becoming increasingly popular following
the resounding success of
League of Legends
and
DOTA 2, the latest to hit the market is the console-based
Awesomenauts Assemble!
Though it lacks the expansive
player base of the more well-known games, there is
something fun and punchy about a sidescroller battle
arena. It’s like Ronimo took all the best bits from Riot and
Valve, simplified them and chucked ‘em onto the PS4.
Awesomenauts Assemble!
is great for fans of MOBAs new
and old; it’s quick to pick up, difficult to master, but doesn’t
try to be anything else. Battle with friends on or offline to
destroy the enemy’s base, and laugh while doing it.

Charming, entertaining and an all-round guilty pleasure
in itself,
The Last Tinker: City of Colours
is surprisingly
fun. As Koru, you must harness the power of colour to
defeat the Bleakness and make Colourtown vibrant once
again. The unique soundtrack and the vibrant setting and
level structure give this game its undeniably indie vibe;
there’s nothing like it. Help the young boy Koru save
Tinkerworld from the all-devouring Bleakness, using the
power of colours to aggravate (red), frighten (green) and
grieve (blue) your enemies as you manipulate them to
solve logical puzzles and overcome various obstacles.
Think Epic Mickey meets Pikmin.

Norwegian indie developers Rain Games really hit the
Nicola on the head with their 2D puzzle-platformer
Teslagrad.
Matched only in its entertainment by
its ingenuity, the game is reminiscent of titles like
Professor Layton and the Curious Village
, and if anything
keeps you going, it’s the underlying need to behold
more of the beautiful, hand-drawn world. Playing as
a young Teslamancer, you must creatively defeat the
challenges that stand in your way, and reveal the great
injustice causing you to be the last of your kind. The
lovechild of Ratchet & Clank and Super Mario, this is
‘watt’ you need to be looking into next. Okay, I’ll stop.

Some think that if you’ve played one LEGO game then
you’ve played them all. That, however, is the sort of
thinking that caused the dinosaurs to become extinct
(no it wasn’t, it was aliens, duh! – Ed). While
LEGO
Jurassic World
does follow a similar template to previous
blocktacular releases, it has one huge addition. Actually,
it has several huge additions – playable dinosaurs! Yes,
you’re not just stuck as a puny human; you can get your
T-rex on and cause serious blockbusting havoc. Almost
as cool is that while this release coincides with the new
movie, you get to play through all four Jurassic Park
flicks. Hold on to your brick butts!
