Saws for cutting high
performance alloys
AUGUST Blecher KG has engineered
a tungsten carbide-tipped circular
saw blade for cutting applications of
demanding steel grades.
The steel industry’s requirements to
cut difficult-to-machine materials have
increased in the last few years. Materials
with unique metallurgical properties –
such as titanium, tool steels, stainless
steels, hardened steels and other super
alloys – were developed to meet the
demands of extreme applications. Along
with making these materials harder,
tougher, less heat sensitive and/or more
resistant to corrosion and fatigue, they
also became more difficult to machine.
In response to these challenging
demands, Blecher developed the BLX
Cut© circular cutting tool, which allows
efficient cutting of any duplex and super-
duplex steel.
The BLX Cut is claimed to show its
benefits when interacting with high-
performance cutting machines: high
quality cut surfaces, excellent chipping
behaviour, low heat impact and above-
average cutting parameters.
The BLX Cut circular saw blade is
characterised by custom-designed
carbide tips, unique tooth geometry
and a particular PVD coating. Modified
executions are also able to cut nickel-
base alloys and titanium alloys.
The August Blecher Company is an
established manufacturer of original
machine equipment for well-known
machine building companies. Both
friction/hot cutting circular sawing
machines and TCT circular sawing
machines can be installed by the supplier
with Blecher circular saw blades.
