assachusetts Avenue Heights is far
from your standard affluent, coveted
Washington, D.C., neighborhood. It’s a
neighborhood that plays host to several
world embassies, landmarks that include
the Washington National Cathedral and the Naval Observa-
tory, a cross-section of some of the world’s most influential
individuals and high-end homes to match. Bill and Hillary
Clinton are neighbors, and Barack and Michelle Obama and
Ivanka Trump and family live minutes away.

first female prime minister,” says Stewart Coleman of Cold-

estate for sale. “He was an incredible man who did
great things for the world.”

side-by-side Mediterranean villas on one of the neigh-

extensive reworking and renovation that joined the two
into one palatial, 15,000-square-foot estate. Not sur-
prisingly, it works as well for diplomatic use as it does
as a luxury family residence.
“It’s set up for very private living and very pub-
lic entertaining,” says Coleman. “It’s exceptionally
large, even for this area, and includes extensive staff
quarters, which is not common in your average D.C.
house.” There are wonderful family spaces on every
floor, including six of the home’s eight bedrooms, five
of its 11 total baths, and a family room on the second
floor. “Major events can be going on in another part
