the mountains”) will be among
the work featured at the Venice
Biennale. Lai’s 1981 public art
event brought a local legend to
life, as blue ribbon was used
to tie the community together,
all the way from the doors and
balconies of the homes to the
top of the mountain, prompting
villagers to party in the streets.
