Have you ever wondered who “George Wythe” really was and why the Town of
Wytheville was named for a man who may (or may not) have ever visited this
area?
Presentation by Chris Hull, the former “George Wythe” at Colonial Williams-
burg. He will discuss the “real” George Wythe and his contributions to the study
of law and the founding of America. In addition to signing the Declaration of
Independence, Wythe was the colony’s attorney general, Virginia’s chancellor,
and the nation’s first college law professor!
