Symposium with Proffered Papers

STANDARDISATION IN CLINICAL PRACTICE

14:15 - 15:30 | ROOM 2

Standardisation is of outmost importance if we want to monitor and improve quality in radiation oncol-

ogy. It does not only reduce variability, increasing quality but also increases efficiency. In this symposium

we will cover how standardisation can be implemented in different areas of the treatment process and

what is its impact on quality.

The standardisation of clinical target delineation and organ at risk contouring will be covered by the first

two speakers, Caroline Weltens and Stefania Pallotta. Ben Heijmen will cover treatment planning while

Angela Baker will focus on the implementation of standardisation at a local and national level.

Chair: N. Jornet (Spain)

Co-chair: G. Biti (Italy)

14:15 > Guideline-based contouring and clinical audit systems

Speaker: C. Weltens (Belgium)
