Since the early work of the founders of the Community Foundation of the New River Valley, the focus has been on
building a better community, for now and for the future. Our values of transparency, sound financial stewardship,
and leadership in service to community are a critical part of our interaction with organizations, donors, and our
broader region. We are a publicly supported, nonprofit organization classified as a 501c3 by the Internal Revenue
Service (IRS). All gifts to the Community Foundation are tax-deductible as allowed by law.
The CFNRV is confirmed in compliance with the Council on Foundation’s National Standards for Community
