attached plaque snares more and more molecules until a thick buildup
occurs. The buildup eventually inhibits or completely blocks blood flow
through the artery the same way that debris blocks water flowing through a
drain. If oxygen-rich blood can’t make it through the arteries to cells and
organs, they can fail from oxygen deprivation.
