 Technique
 Template-guided
 Free hand technique
 Trocars are inserted in an orderly fashion Template-guided
 Beginning with the deepest plane and then
proceeding towards the more superficial
planes
 Particular care has to be taken with deep-
seated needles in order not to puncture
the thoracic wall/pleura
 Latero-medial orientation is preferred
