Conclusion Import Low / DBCG PBI
External beam forward planned IMRT partial breast irradiation based on 40
Gy/15 fr is feasible
Lower radiation doses to the lung and heart
Few side effects at 3 yr with no difference or better outcome in breast
induration, dyspigmentation, scar, edema, telangiectasia, global cosmetic
outcome, pt satisfaction
Few recurrences, and not related to PBI
PBI based on 40 Gy/15 fr is now new DBCG standard to patients fulfilling the
inclusion criteria in the DBCG PBI trial
In The UK the same therapy is now optional to patients fulfilling the inclusion
criteria in the IMPORT LOW trial
