X-ray source 10 cm long, 3.2 mm diameter
Electrons are accelerated to desired energy and focused to strike a gold target
Spherical applicator 1.5-5 cm
The X-ray system produces low-energy photons: 30-50 kV
Prescribed dose most often 20 Gy / 1 fr 1 mm from surface of applicator
