The Geographical Survey
of the Danish
Kingdom, and the publication of its maps, is under
the charge of this Society.
In the middle o f the last century this Society
commenced, under the superintendence of its own
comm ittee, a D anish D ictionary, w hich, however,
has as yet only reached the letter T.
B u t, as
rules and notions were prevalent when the D ictionary
was commenced which are now discarded, it is
feared by all intelligent Danes that this National
