Terror in Resonance: Complete
Series
reunites longtime collaborators
and legends of the anime industry,
Shinichiro Watanabe and Yoko Kanno, for this
alternate timeline of Tokyo's present. Plagued
by domestic terrorist attacks, Tokyo's residents
find themselves at the mercy of a mysterious
group who are continually one step ahead of
authorities.

Dragon Ball Z: Super Saiyan God
Double Pack
will get you up to date with
the most recent DBZ films in no time. Be
forewarned, this collection is intense with
battles more or less from start to finish, which
is no doubt music to the ears of DBZ fans.
Containing 1150 minutes of wizarding
awesomeness,
FairyTail Guild
Collection 3
is a fantastic way to
catch up with the best long term
shonen series if you're not yet across
it. However, if you've been keeping
up since the get go,
FairyTail
Collection 18
hits shelves just
in time for Natsu and friends to
triumphantly return from the
Grand Magic Games.
You'd think that with 12
assassins on the case,
there'd be a corpse by day's
end, but in
Riddle Story of
Devil: Complete Series
,
assassin Toukaku
Azumanga finds herself enamoured with the
target. I guess that changes the numbers to 11
assassins and two targets.
In its post-Universal Century setting, the
world of
Gundam Reconguista in G: Part 1
has finally achieved a modicum of peace, with
all-out war seemingly a thing of the past. That
is until Capital Guard cadet Bellri Zenam is
attacked by a mobile unit. The animation style
in this series is a throwback to the original
series, while the character and mecha designs
are completely new and fresh. One thing is
certain – for Gundam fans like myself, more
Gundam is never a bad thing.
With their school due to close down, a
group of enterprising teenagers do the
only thing to keep the school afloat.
Protest? No. Approach the board of
education? Nope. The girls in
Love
Live!: Season 1
form an idol group.
Yep, that oughta do it.
More fantastic mecha drops this
month with the complete series of
Eureka Seven AO
hitting shelves
on Blu-ray and DVD. More Eureka
on the screen can only be a good
thing and will definitely make
you want to revisit the original
series, which is one of the best
mecha series of all time, in my
opinion. Is it just me or does
Okinawa seem like a must-
visit holiday destination?
ANIME
ROUND-UP
Cowboy Bebop
is one of the
greatest anime series of all time, not
only due to its genre-bending story of
Cowboys, bounty hunters and space
rangers, but also due in no small part
to the fantastic score by Yoko Kanno
and the animation which holds up
incredibly well 17 years after the fact.
Six years later,
Samurai Champloo
,
the hip hop-driven feudal samurai
story came along and, while not as
critically acclaimed as its predecessor,
still hit a chord with fans.
Eight long years after that, the
tender and jazz-driven
Kids on the
Slope
showed a more earnest side
to Watanabe's directorial
abilities, while
Space Dandy
revealed a more surrealist,
comedic streak, with a well
regarded and absurdity-
infused story and equally
ludicrous animation style.
Rounding out his body of
work, this month's release
of
Terror in Resonance
shows that
Watanabe truly is a master of
anime in delivering a suspenseful
thriller which is at complete odds
with anything he's done before. By
consistently delivering such varied
styles and genre, Watanabe proves
that he really is a master of anime.
