However, there are data shown that the conversion between the previtamin D and vitamin D is a slow
process. One report showed that at 60oC the equilibrium time was 12 hours, and at 80oC the equilibrium
time was 2.4 hours.
The saponification conditions and time ini this method seem can not ensure a equilibrium between the
previtamin D and vitamin D is established.
Recommendation: Need more investigation on the previtamin D determination.
