Advanced radiotherapy recognises a crucial role to modern hybrid imaging techniques, which enrich
the morphological tissue analysis with metabolic information. MR-PET imaging represents to date
one of the most promising techniques in this scenario, offering the advantages of anatomical detail en-
hancement, gain of morphological reliability, soft tissue contrast and multiparametric studies together
with biological details obtained through the use of specific tracers describing molecular pathways from
cell proliferation to hypoxia.
