Sweeney: an Intertonguing

Rody Gorman

Rody Gorman (b. 1960) hails

originally from Dublin, Ireland and

has taken up residence on the Isle

of Skye, in Scotland. He writes

mainly in Scottish Gaelic and Irish

Gaelic.

Rody translates his own work into English via a method he

dubs "polysomatic", concatenating portmanteau words that

evoke the rich multiple meanings of the original Gaelic

words.
