The Upper East Side’s Neue Galerie is well known for its

stellar collection of early 20th century blue chip artwork

created in Austria and Germany. Artists, designers and

architects on Neue Galerie’s roster include legendary painters

Gustav Klimt and Egon Schiele; a number of works affiliated

with The Bauhaus, including those of László Moholy-Nagy;

and Russian-born Expressionist artist Alexei Jawlensky,

whose first full museum retrospective in the United States is

currently on view.

Duggal Visual Solutions’ Bob Kapoor and Ruchika Attri have

an ongoing relationship with Neue Galerie, most recently

overseeing the production of wall text and graphics for

the Alexei Jawlensky exhibition. Duggal’s production team

used a variety of printing and lettering options to deliver a

complete aesthetic and fluid visitor experience.

Working in complimentary color palettes that perfectly

match the walls, Duggal printed labels for individual pieces

onto museum board and trimmed them at an angle to create a

refined bevel cut. Additional historical information regarding

Jawlensky is presented in a timeline constructed from long

panels of mounted and laminated prints. A standout piece is a

Cad Cut quote from Jawlensky reading, “My spirit will live

on” – timeless words from an outstanding artist.
