This series provides information about the 50 U.S. states, as well as
America’s overseas territories, for young readers. The series takes
a regional approach, with each book focusing on two to four
neighboring U.S. states. Chapters on the states include sections that
detail each state’s geography and climate; history from pre-colonial
times to the present day; form of government and significant
government leaders; economy and major industries; population;
and major cities. These interesting and factual books are lavishly
illustrated with more than 70 photos, as well as maps and graphics.
A variety of cross-curricular material, including research projects,
text-dependent questions, sidebars with supplementary
information, annotated lists of useful websites books for further
reading, and a detailed index are also included in each title.
