Current clinical standard

4DCT is standard in many modern clinics.

Treatment planning is mostly performed to a single phase of a

4DCT.

Delivery is almost entirely based on motion encompassing

techniques – ITV or mid-ventilation approach – or on gating

techniques.

Breath-hold and/or gating techniques are mostly used for

organ separation for sites including breast and mediastinal

lymphoma.

Image guidance is performed using either orthogonal x-rays or

3D cone-beam CT.
