96 trials (79%), classified as interven3onal studies.

Observa3onal studies accounted for 21% of trials but 71% (n=29,852) of planned pa3ent

enrollment.

Most common: Gastrointes3nal tract tumors (21%, n=26), tumors of the central nervous

system (15%, n=18), and prostate cancer (12%, n=15).

5 ac3ve studies (lung, esophagus, head and neck, prostate, breast) will randomize pa3ents

between protons and photons, and 3 will randomize pa3ents between protons and carbon ion

therapy.
