•PCa is the most common non-skin cancer in elderly males (>70 years of age) in Europe.

•Incidence highest in Northern and Western Europe (> 200 per 100,000 men); rates in

Eastern and Southern Europe have showed a continuous increase

•5-year relative survival percentages for PCa steadily increased from 73.4% in 1999-2001

to 83.4% in 2005- 2007.
