THE 4
th
edition of Tolexpo, the
international show for sheet metal, coil,
tube and section equipment, organised
by DBR Event, will be held at Paris-Nord
Villepinte Exhibition Centre from 15 to 18
November 2011.
Six months before the show opens,
Tolexpo already had more than 150
exhibitors, among them both French
leaders in the sector and the majority
of foreign manufacturers. Almost
11,000 targeted visitors looking for new
equipment will discover the products
and technical innovations offered by
suppliers at the show. Visitors will find
solutions to all their needs, whether they
are looking to renew or modernise their
equipment, begin using new technology,
improve their productivity, or bring their
businesses into line with standards and
regulations.
For the first time this year, in partnership
with the Tolexpo show, Tôlerie magazine
is organising a competition for students
in the various areas that involve sheet
metal working. The Tol&Design Challenge
has been created to put the spotlight on
the expertise of young people who have
chosen the various subjects which involve
sheet metal working, and aims to promote
these subjects and the production chain
itself, by bringing students together to
work on an industrial project.
It is also an opportunity for the
students to present their expertise to
industry professionals by creating finished
products – in this case a chair – using
precise specifications.
The organisers of Tolexpo, Midest,
the global sub-contracting show, and
Maintenance Expo, the maintenance
solutions show, are continuing to work
together in order to create communication
synergies and boost their industry
sectors. The major objective is to create
a technological showcase that will bring
the expertise of sub-contractors together
with that of production equipment
manufacturers.
This agreement confirms the close links
between these three events, which are
positioning themselves to cover the whole
of the industrial process, from start to
finish, in various business sectors. It offers
buyers and principals the opportunity to
find solutions to all their needs under
one roof: equipment and investments
with Tolexpo; expertise with Midest; and
services with Maintenance Expo.

www.tolexpo.comTolexpo 2011: recovery and innovations
THE world pipe market is projected to
expand 5.8 per cent per year to 31.5bn
metres in 2015, a mild deceleration relative
to the 2005-2010 period. This slowdown
can be almost entirely attributed to China,
the world’s largest consumer of pipe.
After increasing rapidly from 2000 to
2010, Chinese pipe demand is expected
to rise at about the average worldwide rate
through 2015. Advances in North America,
Eastern Europe and Western Europe are
expected to accelerate through 2015, as
these regions recover from the global
financial crisis.
The Africa/Mideast region and the
rest of the Asia/Pacific region will also
record faster growth, as local construction
firms and industrial enterprises use pipe
more intensely. These and other trends
are presented in World Plastic Pipe, a
new study from The Freedonia Group,
Inc, a Cleveland-based industry market
research firm.
World plastic pipe demand is forecast
to increase 7.3 per cent annually to 20.3
million metric tons in 2015. Consumption
of smaller-volume plastic pipe products
– such as ABS, GRP and PP pipe – will
expand at an above-average pace, as
end users become more familiar with their
technical characteristics and performance
features. Increases in global construction
activity and process manufacturing output
World pipe market to expand 6 per cent
will support growth. The North American
plastic pipe market is forecast to grow
more than six per cent annually through
2015, as product sales in the US recover
rapidly.
Plastic pipe consumption in the US is
expected to increase nearly seven per
cent per year during this time, after it
declined dramatically between 2007 and
2009 because of turmoil in the residential
construction industry and the global
financial crisis. More than two-thirds of all
plastic pipe demand generated during the
2010-2015 period will be attributable to the
Asia/Pacific region.
Several major Asian countries are
forecast to record rapid growth, including
India, China and Indonesia. China alone
will account for 40 per cent of global plastic
pipe demand generated between 2010 and
2015.
Growth in the Africa/Mideast, East
European and West European plastic pipe
markets will accelerate through 2015.
In contrast, Central and South America
will register slower growth than their
industrialising counterparts as advances
will be measured from a fairly high 2010
base.
