DOMESTIC NEWS
Ulster Rugby is hosting seminars on Performance Nutrition strategies for the
competitive rugby player at two separate locations next month.
As the physical demands of the modern game
increase, it is vital that players appropriately
and adequately fuel their bodies to meet these
demands. Good nutritional practices will optimise
training gains and match day performance;
enhance recovery between training and matches;
reduce the risk of injury, illness and overtraining
fatigue; and aid weight management.
Held in conjunction with the Dairy Council for
Northern Ireland, the seminars will look at:
»
Weight management/energy requirements
»
Pre/during/post-match strategies
»
Away match strategies
»
Supplements – myths/facts/alternatives
»
Alcohol and late nights
