At the preliminary examination of candidates seeking

to become apprentices to solicitors, held on 6th and 7th

inat., the following were allowed the examination, and

their names are arranged in order of merit;—

Nicholas Shortal passed the special examination for

which he had leave to present himself.

The remaining candidates have been-^ostponed. The

first five candidates on the admitted list will be allowed :

to compete for the society's prize next October.

-At the final examination of apprentices seeking to

become solicitors', held on 8th and 9th inBt., the following

were allowed the examination, and their names were

arranged in order of merit :—

2. Joseph J. Dudley

3. James H. Skuce

4. Henry Murphy

6. Morgan Fottrell

6. Luke J. Holmes

7. Patrick E. O'Dbnnell

The remaining candidates have been postponed.

The C-iurfc of Examiners have awarded a gold medal

to Wm. Patterson, a silver medal to Joseph J. Dudley,

and special certificates to James H. Skuoe and Henry

Murphy.
