The examinee:

provides information according to the guidelines of the institution to the patient for

the benefit of maintaining or increasing the patient’s self-reliance

focuses on the options or impairments of this patient to deal with the illness

makes use of information material, aids and instruction material that is geared to the

patient

makes use of information material, aids and instruction material that is geared to the

topic of the information to be provided

provides the patient and/or next of kin with expert advice

takes others involved into account in the style of communication

checks whether the information came across to the patient correctly and discusses

questions the patient and/or next of kin have.
