PTO cannot be carried forward into the next calendar year. All PTO not used during the
calendar year in which it was earned will be lost.
VII. PAID HOLIDAYS
The Firm recognizes the following paid holidays:
New Year’s Day
April 16th
Memorial Day
Independence Day
Labor Day
Thanksgiving Day
The Friday after Thanksgiving Day
Christmas Day
Full-time employees shall be paid for eight (8) hours during all full-day holidays. Hours for
these paid holidays shall not count towards overtime during the week of the holiday.
New Year’s Day, Independence Day, and Christmas Day will be recognized only on
January 1st, July 4th, and December 25th, respectively. If the holiday falls on a weekend,
the day following the weekend will be observed.
VIII. FUNERAL LEAVE
Each full-time employee shall be entitled to three (3) days of paid leave for the death
and funeral of a member of their immediate family. Immediate family includes spouses,
parents, spouse’s parents, children, grandchildren, grandparents, and siblings.
IX. JURY DUTY AND COURT APPEARANCES
The Firm will pay employees when they are summoned to serve on jury duty either
one day’s pay or $50 per day for a maximum of three days, whichever is greater. Any
payments designated as expenses by the court or other appropriate authority may be
retained by the employee. Upon receipt of a summons to serve on jury duty, the
employee is required to present a copy of the summons to management in advance of
the jury duty date.
Management reserves the right to request an excuse from jury duty for an employee if in
the opinion of management his services are vital to the operation of the Firm at the time.
Upon completion of jury duty, the employee must obtain a statement of attendance from
the court and submit it to management. Employees excused from the performance of
jury duty at a time of day which would make it possible to report to work for a minimum of
three hours are required to do so.
When an employee is subpoenaed as a witness, advance notification must be made to
management. Appearances in court under subpoenas and/or out of civic responsibility
(such as a voluntary eyewitness) will be charged against Leave Time unless the
appearance results from business of the Firm.
