INFORMATION REGARDING
SMALL WASTE OIL BURNERS
(SWOBS)
To make you aware that the Department for
Environment Food and Rural Affairs (Defra)
is conducting a review of guidance on the
implementation of the European Union Waste
Incineration Directive and it’s application to
small waste oil burners in England and Wales.
This is on-going, and no timescale has been
set. In order to burn waste oil, you will need
to register with your local authority. There
is an initial charge to do this, followed by a
chargeable annual update licence.
