1. Professor Bates (Q.U.B.) to conduct survey
on Solicitors' Remuneration.
2. Society will have regard to the finding of the
Monopolies Commission on advertising by
the legal profession.
3. New Institute of Legal Education to be
established in Queen's University in Septem-
ber 1976.
4. New Solicitor's Order will give extended
powers to the Society and establish a Com-
pensation Fund.
5. There is also power to introduce a Com-
pulsory Professional Indemnity Insurance.
6. Each
solicitor
is
required
to
apply
individually for a licence under the Con-
sumer Credit Act 1974.
7. The Society will sponsor a Rota Scheme for
Legal Aid throughout Northern Ireland. A
Law Centre will be established in Belfast to
meet the needs of the situation.
8. The current Annual Membership Subscrip-
tion is £12.50 and the cost of the Annual
Practising Certificate is £50.
