The continuing renovation of the NRCA Floyd facility was one of
our most notable accomplishments during 2014-15. Local donors
and volunteers generously supported efforts to restore our build-
ing located at 323 Floyd Highway South. NRCA program staff
returned to the facility in August 2014 and we opened a new Head
Start classroom at the site the following October. In addition to
Head Start, programs housed in the newly-renovated building in-
clude Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA), Emergency Assis-
tance and Food Pantry, Backpack Program, Housing Counseling,
Children's Health Improvement Partnership (CHIP), VA CARES
and the Floyd County Baby Store. NRCA also partners with New
River Community College to provide space for GED classes and
with NRV CARES for parent education classes.
