One of your teammates is injured on the job … what will you do?
Okay, you’ve administered first aid. Now what?
A well-planned, rational approach to injury management assures that the teammate will be treated
promptly and puts you in control of the process.
These guidelines will help you manage this process more efficiently.
When you have a workers’ compensation claim …
IMMEDIATELY
Seek medical attention for the injured teammate.
Refer the teammate to a medical provider if your state allows.
Suggest medical provider if your state allows.

Report all losses even if the information you have
is incomplete.
Report all losses regardless of whether you believe
they are job related.

on the same day the illness
or injury occurred.
You should provide

with the following information:
Date, time, place and description of the injury.
Provide
Sedgwick CMS
with a job description of the injured teammate’s current job.
Job being performed by teammate and current wage information.
Type of first aid provided, if any.
Name of the physician, clinic or hospital where teammate was treated (if known; if unknown,
provide these to
Sedgwick CMS
as soon as the information becomes available).
Any other information pertaining to the injury.
