Meters for energy
conscious customers
BSS Industrial, a distributor of heating
and pipeline solutions, has launched a
range of heat and water meters from
its Boss brand to offer an accurate way
of monitoring energy consumption in
industrial and commercial processes.
This will enable tenants to assess
peak usage periods and adjust heating
and water applications to maximise
efficiency and therefore financial
savings.
The wall-mounted MID (Measured
Instrument Directive) approved Boss
heat meter range includes a five-year
warranty and a pulsed BMS output
with the option of Mbus.
Mechanical and ultrasonic
options are also available as
standard. BSS Industrial’s
Boss water meter range is
WRAS (Water Regulations
Advisory Scheme) approved
and ISO 4064 Class B
accredited for the Multijet
and Woltmann ranges.
Boss water and heat meters can be used
for a variety of applications including
sub-metering water and heating
systems in domestic and commercial
environments. Both meters also meet
the requirements of the RHI (Renewable
Heat Incentive) scheme, operated by
OFGEM.

Boss heat and water meters are available
in a selection of sizes, allowing the
meters to be used in any application.

Titanium and special alloy products
Harald Pihl specialises in titanium and
nickel based alloys. The company’s
head office is located in Täby, Sweden,
but it is present all over Europe, with
offices in Germany (the former THG
Titan Halbzeug GmbH), Denmark (the
former ab-q metal), UK and Finland,
and agents in Italy, France, Turkey,
Spain and Portugal.
The range of products available
includes plate, sheet, coil, strip, bar,
tube and wire in a variety of dimensions.
State-of-the-art tools allow Harald Pihl
to offer tailor-made products from
its service centre facilities. Custom
orders of titanium and nickel alloy
can be supplied quickly with the help
of a precision water-jet cutter. Coil
processing facilities ensure that slit
strip (recoiled if required) and cut-to-
length sheet can also be supplied at
short notice.
A guillotine is available for material
up to 3m wide and 8mm thickness.
Band saws cut bar, pipe and tubular
products up to 450mm diameter. A line
for small tubes (3mm OD, 0.3mm wall
thickness) rounds off the company’s
processing capabilities. Harald Pihl’s
complete stock can be seen on a
