lovers and welcome
to July. The latter end
of last month was full of live
music highlights including The
Living end at The Forum (who
smashed out tracks from their
seventh studio album, this
year’s Shift, amongst others
from the boys’ impressive
anthology), DMA’s at The
Corner, and five-piece Hottest
100 champs The Rubens at
Margaret Court Arena. Still
hanging for English singer-
songwriter Dua Lipa, whose
tiny run of dates (just two; one
in Sydney and one in
Melbourne) are set for
mid-July. Meanwhile, it might
seem as if Courtney Barnett
only just took out the
Australian Music Prize
(because she did, for 2015’s
Sometimes I Sit And Think,
And Sometimes I Just Sit) but
there’s no time to waste in
assembling the competitors for
this year’s prize – it’s happening
as we speak. And lastly, we’re
prepping ourselves for the
upcoming slew of Splendour
sideshows: The Cure, The
Strokes, The Avalanches' only
Preatures, Hermitude and
Urthboy… to name a couple.
Don’t sit on your hands
expecting tickets to come to
you, because these shows are
going to sell-out quick smart.
