What are the goals for this season
both for you and for the team?
The goal for us is to win something this
year. I think last year we started well,
fizzled out a little bit and then towards
the end of the season we started to
play well again. This year, we just
need consistency and a strong team
mentality from the outset to keep each
other going and pushing and winning
games. For me, I would like to get back
into the Ireland set-up, but you are only
as good as your last game so I need to
get off to a good start with Ulster.
We take on Wasps at home in a
pre-season match and then the
first Championship game in the
new PRO14 we are at home to the
Cheetahs, are you looking forward
to getting back out in front of the
Kingspan Stadium crowd?
Yes, I can't wait. That buzz you get
from playing in front of a big crowd,
especially at Kingspan, is something
you can't replicate anywhere else, it's
going to be tough against a skillful
English side and also the Cheetahs
will bring a different edge to the
game. We are all really looking
forward to the season starting.
