launched its heat protective Thermo-Trex®
silica Ultra-Sleeve™ as an alternative to
the ceramic Ultra-Sleeve for use in steel
mills, manufacturing plants, foundries, glass
factories and welding and cutting shops.
Thermo-Trex silica Ultra-Sleeve uses 96
percent pure silica fiber, which has none of
the negative health effects of asbestos or
ceramic sleeves. The sleeve is designed to
provide short term temperature resistance
up to 3,000°F (1,650°C) together with flame
resistance, flexibility and tensile strength.
