TASP is a one-day simulation-based workshop that will provide
evidence-based, hands-on training in basic speech pathology
management of adult patients with a tracheostomy. The learning
environment uses realistic clinical scenarios and simulated human
manikins in a small group environment to develop core practical skills
for speech pathologists working with this population. It allows for the
development of confidence in tracheostomy management for the
clinician prior to live patient contact. TASP is designed for speech
pathologists who have limited practical experience working with the
adult patient with a tracheostomy. The workshop is aimed at the
introductory level. 1–2 years of dysphagia experience is preferable.
