SPEECH PATHOLOGIST GRADUATE
, Rachel Hull was awarded the prestigious
2014 HESTA Student of the Year Award. This award is granted to a Griffith University
student enrolled in a School of Allied Health Sciences Program with the highest
ranking grade point average according to overall academic results at the end of the
program with outstanding clinical performance and contribution to the community
and School of Allied Health Sciences.
‘I graduated from Griffith University’s Master of Speech Pathology Program last
December and recently received the Allied Health Student of the Year award for 2014.
Sponsored by HESTA Superannuation, this industry award is presented each year to a
Physiotherapy, Exercise Science, Nutrition and Dietetics, or Speech Pathology student
and I was delighted to represent the profession of Speech Pathology in this way. The
two-year Masters program at Griffith provided me with diverse theoretical knowledge
and a wide variety of clinical experiences, as well as opportunities to promote our
profession within the community. All of these experiences prepared me for work as a
Speech Pathologist in a private practice, which I love, and winning this award was an
unexpected honour. My sincere thanks go to HESTA for acknowledging students in
this way and the Griffith University Speech Pathology department for nominating me.’
