AMONGST MEMBERS.
Special General Meeting.
ON Tuesday, 2nd January, a Special General
Meeting of the Society was held in
the
Solicitors' Buildings, Four Courts, by order
of the Council, in compliance with a requisi
tion signed by twenty-four members of the
Society, for the purpose of considering the
following resolution :—
" That the Government be requested to
appoint Commissioners to hold an inquiry for
the purpose of reporting with respect to the
following matters :—(1) The complaints made
and the grievances alleged to exist with
regard to the procedure in the County Courts
in Ireland :
(2) what steps should be taken
to improve such procedure. That a copy of
this resolution
be
forwarded to the Right
Hon. the Chief Secretary for Ireland."
The President (Mr. Gerald Byrne) was in
the chair.

The Secretary (Mr. W. G. Wakely) read
the notice convening the meeting, and stated
that, this being a Special Meeting, there were
no Minutes to be signed ;
the Secretary also
stated that the

said:—Gentlemen,
you have heard read the resolution that we
have met to consider here to-day.
This
meeting has been called, as you are all aware,
in pursuance of a requisition signed by a
number of members of the Society asking the
Council to call the meeting for the special
purpose of considering this resolution.
