THE Findlater Scholarship was awarded to Martin

A. Salmon, who served his apprenticeship with the

late Mr. Dermot J. O'Rourke, Solicitor, and Mr.

Peter Canning, Solicitor, Naas.

The Overend Final Examination Scholarship

(Real Property and Conveyancing) was awarded to

Eamon P. Carroll, who served his apprenticeship

with Mr. Brendan M. Glynn, Solicitor, Ballinasloe.

The Overend Preliminary Examination Scholar

ship was awarded to Dermot F. Jones.

LAND REGISTRY

Lodgment of Dealings affecting Vested Lands

in respect of which a Folio has not yet

been opened

IN cases in which Dealings are being lodged in the

Land Registry for registration affecting lands which

have been vested by the Land Commission in tenant

purchasers, but in respect of which a Folio has not

yet been opened in the Land Registry, the following

particulars should, in future, be incorporated in

the Deed of Transfer or other Instrument lodged for

registration, namely :—

(a)

Particulars of the Land Commission Record.

Number and the name of the Estate on

which the lands were situate.

(b)

The Collection Number of the holding.

(<r) The date of the vesting (whether such

vesting is effected by means of a fiated

Purchase Agreement or a Vesting Order) ;

and

(d)

A clause identifying the person in whom the

lands are vested with the person named in

the Dealing as Owner of the lands.

In cases where Deeds have already been executed

in which the above-mentioned particulars have not

been incorporated or where the Dealing is a trans

mission on death, the particulars at

(a), (b)

and

(f)

and a Certificate of Identity to the effect set out at

(d)

above should, for the purpose of identification be

furnished to the Land Registry Officials when the

Dealing in question is being lodged in the Land

Registry.

SOLICITORS TO LOCAL

AUTHORITIES

The attention of the profession is again drawn

to the resolution of the Council on the subject of

the terms of appointment of solicitors to local

authorities which was published in the issue of

the Society's Gazette for July last.

Solicitors are

requested not to answer any public advertisement

or private request inviting application for such

part time positions on a.salary basis without first

communicating with the Secretary of the Society.
