members took out cards.
The Incorporated Law Society's Cup and the
President's Prize were won by H. B. Lenihan with
a score of 73 net. The Ryan Cup was won by
C. M. Ryan with a score of 74 net. The prize for
the best gross was won by D. Lynch with a score of
81. There was a tie for the best first 9 holes between

The President presided at the dinner, which was
held in the Clubhouse, and was attended by 36
members. The toast of the President was proposed
by P. R. Boyd, who referred to the enormous amount
of time and work which the President had devoted
to the Incorporated Law Society during his year
of office and to the great interest he had shown in
the Solicitors' Golfing Society, and thanked him very
heartily for coming all the way from Galway to be
present at the dinner, and for the beautiful prize
which he presented.
In his reply the President said
how much he had enjoyed the outing, and said
he failed to understand why the Solicitors' Golfing
Society was not better supported by the members
of the profession, as it provided an excellent oppor
tunity for Solicitors to meet in social surroundings
and not in their usual contacts in the Courts.
The toast of the Captain of the Solicitors' Golfing
Society was proposed by D. P. Shaw, of Mullingar,
and was replied to by Patrick Glynn.
An excellent musical programme was provided
by Roderick Tierney, a member of the Society, by
Mr. Paddy Henry and Mr. Frank Cowle, with Mr.
• J. Cowle at the piano.
APPOINTMENT
MR. JOSEPH F. SHIELDS, Solicitor, who was for
