Workmen's Compensation Bill, 1933.

The Secretary

reported

that he had

communicated to the Minister for Industry

and Commerce the request of the Council

that the Minister would move on Report

stage of the Bill the omission from section 43

of the words " or agent " where those words

occurred three times in that section, and that

the Minister on Report stage had complied

with the request, and that Section 43 of the

issue of the Bill as amended on Report does

not contain the words.

'bers of the Council were appointed by Mr.

Committee for the year ending 26th Novem–

OBITUARY.

MR. JUSTIN MACCARTHY, Solicitor, died

on the 9th December, 1933, at Kildrought,

Celbridge, County Kildare.

Mr. MacCarthy was admitted in Trinity

Sittings, 1889, and practised at 19 Upper

Merrion Street, Dublin, under the style of

Justin MacCarthy and Co. up to 1929 when

he retired.

MR. THOMAS F. MONKS, Solicitor, died on

the 22nd December, 1933, at his residence

" Annacrevey," Glenageary, Co. Dublin.

Mr. Monks, who served his apprenticeship

with the late Mr. Robert K. Clay, 21 St.

Andrew Street, Dublin, was admitted in

Michaelmas Sittings, 1887, and practised (in

partnership with Mr. John J. Gaynor) under

the style of Monks and Gaynor at 27 Moles-

worth Street, Dublin.

He was a member of the Council of the

Society from 1918 to 1923.

MR. RICHARD FiTzSiMMONS, Solicitor, died

on the 29th December, 1933, at his residence

4 Heathfield Road, Terenure, Dublin.

Mr. FitzSimmons served his apprentice–

ship with the late Mr. William Patterson,

Belfast, was admitted in Trinity Sittings,

1899, and practised as a member of the firm

of Hone and Falkiner at 9 Suffolk Street,

Dublin up to 1932 when he retired.

APPOINTMENT.

JOSEPH H. DIXON, Solicitor,

Parnell Square, Dublin, has been appointed

by the Minister for Local Government and

Public Health, to act as Taxing Officer under

the Labourers (Ireland) Acts and Orders.
