Twenty-five Members present.

Courts of Justice Bill.

A letter was read from the Ministry of

Justice dealing with the amendments to the

Bill suggested by the Council, which had been

submitted to the Ministry, and requesting

further information in reference to some of

the suggested amendments. A reply, settled

by .the special committee of the Council

which originally prepared the amendments,

was approved of and adopted.

Grant-in-aid Statutory Committee.

Correspondence with

the Ministry

of

Finance was submitted, and was ordered to

be inserted on the minutes.

OBITUARY.

MR. MICHAEL MAGUIRE, Solicitor, died on

the 13th April, 1935, at Eallyshannon.

Mr. Maguire was admitted

in Trinity

Sittings, 1887, and practised at Ballyshannon.

MR. Louis 0. OWENS, Solicitor, died on

the 22nd April, 1935, at Dublin.

Mr. Owens served his apprenticeship with

Mr. Weldon C. Molony, Dublin;

was

admitted

in Trinity Sittings, 1917, and

practised under the style of Molony and

Owens,

al 5 Upper Fitzwilliam Street,

Dublin.

MR. CHRISTOPHER C. SHAW, Solicitor, died

on the 23rd April, 1935, at Dublin.

Mr. Shaw served his apprenticeship with

Mr. Harford A. C. Kelly, Dublin ;

was

admitted

in Trinity Sittings,

1914,

and

practised at 4 Dame Street, Dublin, up to

1926.

MR. JAMES P. LAVAX, Solicitor, died on

the 25th April, 1335,

at his

residence,

Cullinagh, Newcastle West.

Mr. L.avan served"'his apprenticeship with

the late Mr. John Condon, Newcastle West ;

was admitted in Hilary Sittings, 1897, and

practised at Newcastle West.

LEGAL APPOINTMENTS.

County Registrars.

Mr. John D. Ross, Solicitor, has been

appointed to the office of County Registrar

for County Westmeath, in room of Mr. Charles

E. Fair, retired. Mr. Ross was admitted in

Hilary Sittings,

1923,

and practised at

Mullingar.

Mr. Patrick J. O'Hagan, Solicitor, has been

appointed to the office of County Registrar

for County Louth, in room of Mr. William X.

White, retired. Mr. O'Hagan was admitted

in Trinity Sittings, 1902, and practised at

Dundalk.
