SCREEN PRINTING PRESSES
The Oval Evolution from Roq
“Sixteen years ago, Roq decided to develop something that
no-one had been able to create: an oval screen printing ma-
chine that would hold registration with the same precision as a
carousel,” says Roq. “It wasn’t an easy task. For decades, several
companies had tried and failed. But in 2000, Roq developed a
flawless registration system – the main difference between Roq’s
oval screen printing machines and the rest of the market.” The
company adds that its ovals also benefit from a lifetime warranty
for registration.
Roq reports that it is continually investing in research and
development so that its oval screen printing machines are “able
to answer every need that a screen printer might have”. Features
include aluminium honeycomb pallets, independent elevation of
print heads, a high lift position for quick and easy screen clean-
“With 17 models of automatic and manual
press – and hundreds of size and fea-
ture configurations – M&R has a press
to satisfy virtually every screen printing
requirement,” says M&R. Included in the
range are the Stryker, Gauntlet III, and
Sportsman EX.
According to the company, the Stryker
is the “most versatile and affordable oval
screen printing press available”, with M&R
reporting that its pricing is comparable to
carousel presses of similar colour capac-
ity. Stryker’s 10-station base module can
be expanded in six-station increments,
and Stryker models have maximum image
areas up to 80 x 110 cm, and can print im-
ages as large as 132 x 110 cm in alternat-
ing print heads.
Gauntlet III, M&R’s versatile, high-pro-
duction, mid-size automatic, is available in
10-18 colours with a maximum standard
image area of 48 x 55 cm and a maximum
image area of 114 x 55 cm in alternating
print heads. Standard features include
M&R’s exclusive Squeegee Dam system
and Automatic Pallet Preheat Mode.
The Sportsman EX 1618 is available in 6-,
8-, 10- and 12-colour models with maxi-
mum image areas of 41 x 46 cm or 51 x 51
cm. The Sportsman EX 5070 is designed
specifically for cut-piece printing and has
a maximum image area of 51 x 71 cm.
All models feature electric print heads,
servo-driven indexers and multiple print-
stroke capability.
